She’s been in the beauty business for 32 years, breaking barriers and consistently setting very high new standards for herself. Three years ago Nabila launched her ‘magic’ product called the No Makeup Palette in Pakistan and this week, the No Makeup Palette transitioned into ZERO Makeup and found its way to Bloomingdales, Dubai.
This revolutionary five product palette – that includes a concealer, blender, rouge, lip-stain plus a setting powder – offered a no-fuss, minimalist approach to makeup, one that endorsed a natural look and was the antithesis to Huda Beauty, for example. The beauty of the situation, pardon the pun, is that ZERO launched internationally and instantly appealed to the Middle Eastern woman who spends an average of forty minutes making up her face every day. Nabila managed to convince her that she could manage to look just as great in just one minute!
Nabila is Hotstepper of the Week for her vision; she’s gone global with ZERO Makeup and as she says, the world is her oyster and the international market is where she’s headed with a new range of products by the end of the year. The ZERO palette itself has expanded, as to accommodate Caucasian and African skin tones.
“The idea is to be inclusive,” Nabila spoke in a recent conversation we had. “I personally love brown skin tones and actually spend time in the sun to go a shade darker. I want to convince women that they are beautiful in their skin, no matter how light or dark it is.”
That’s a mantra we’d definitely want young girls to get under their skin.
