Hair-spiration from TFPW S/S 2015

Sometimes it’s the smallest switch-ups in style that can make all the difference. In the midst of all the trendsetting that was FPW S/S 2015, we picked up ideas on how to change our hair game this season.

Simple bare accessories

While Fahad Hussayn will put a dead bird on every woman’s head if he could, the hair accessories trending this season seem to be of the stripped-down variety. Pearl-studded headbands and floral-embellished headpieces will appeal to the romantics among us, who could even simply tuck in a fresh flower for a quick hair pick-me-up. We advise you to let your hair ornaments do the talking and stick to little or no accessories.

Till death do us centre part?

At Fashion Pakistan Week, the hair part moved from the sidelines to front and centre – almost – and judging by how modern and clean the look is, we recommend that you try for yourself too. The look appeared on runways from Sania Maskatiya and Fnk Asia, where the centre part really showed off the loose, volumized, beachy waves, to Fahad Hussayn and Inaaya, where a razor-sharp centre part was the perfect complement to a slicked-back hairdo. Not a person with perfect symmetry? No problem. Make a part about 1/4 inch off centre on the side of your smaller eye—we all have one—to balance your face, advises hairstylist Nathaniel Hawkins.BS_Centre-Part-SaniaMaskatiya-curls

Ponytail season

Ponytails seem to have swung back in style of late – good news for those of us who are bracing ourselves for the sweltering heat. Ponytails made an appearance on the runway, side-swept and beachy in Madiha Raza’s show and low and sleek in Jafferjee’s. The key is for the look to remain polished, so reach for the hairspray before heading out.BS_Ponytails-Madiha-Raza

Bun it, braid it

Ponytails don’t have to be the only way to keep your hair away from the nape of your neck. Whether you’re sporting buns or braids, keep the look messy, like they did on the runway this season. Add the tousle to your tresses with Toni&Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray.BS_Bun-it-Braid-it
