Flash Your Style! Oscars: Red carpet report

The Oscars this year got the lowest ratings ever but we pretty much feel the opposite about the red carpet. The stars put together some noteworthy looks for the carpet that hinted at brighter things to come after a bleak start to the awards season. Instep puts together a list of the finest appearances on the biggest red carpet of the award show calendar.

Emma Stone

We always watch out for Stone’s red carpet looks because she usually goes against tide and puts together unique ensembles. She wore a silk Louis Vuitton suit to the red carpet this time around. This was complete with a pink bow tied around her waist and sparkly earrings which made for the chicest look on the carpet. We want this in our cupboards now!

Margot Robbie

Another minimalistic look was Margot Robbie’s in Chanel. What we loved most about the ensemble was its neckline and the fact that it was in white. She looked chic, fuss free and elegant. Her wavy hair gave the look a relaxed edge; tied back hair would have taken away from the look.

Jennifer Lawrence

While videos of J Law walking over chairs at the Oscars go viral we’re still admiring her look for the night. Channeling her inner bombshell, Jennifer Lawrence stepped onto the runway in a stunning gilded Dior gown. She was one of the few in sparkling gowns that night but definitely one of the best dressed.

Zendaya

Zendaya wore a stunning Giambattista Valli number to the red carpet. Brown is generally an unusual color on the red carpet, but Zendaya’s gown makes us wonder why. What really worked for her was the silhouette and the styling of the dress. She kept it minimal with a top knot and diamond earrings and a bracelet, making it our favourite look of the night.
