We’re more than midway through Ramzan and with the holy month comes thirty days of joyful festivity. While most of it extends to food (which is ironic since Ramzan is all about abstinence) a lot of it is geared towards fashion and who better to look at than our stylish celebrities who channel their inner traditionalist with perfection. Iftar and sehri parties, Ramzan transmissions, Eid shopping – they’ve mastered it all. Instep rounds up some memorable traditional looks this week, as flaunted by some of our trendiest stars.
Sana Javed has been busy promoting her film Mehrunisa V Lub U, also starring Danish Taimoor, which is why we’ve been seeing the upcoming actress making many public appearances lately. While Sana does make the occasional fashion faux pas (every now and then), this Sanam Chaudry ensemble is looking stunning on her. Sana opted to wear a very summer appropriate white chikan tunic with a lace duster to complete the look and we approve!
Mehwish Hayat, with her good looks and fashion friendly demeanour, is every designer’s dream muse and she nails the look in this luxurious mint green Shehla Chatoor ensemble. We love that Mehwish chose such a light and subtle look for a TV show appearance; it really made her stand out amongst the print overload we see these days. This colour is so summer appropriate and ideal to beat the heat with.
The brilliant thing about Anoushey Ashraf is that we see so much of her but never get enough of her! Over the years she has learned to always be appropriately dressed no matter what the occasion. Seen here in a rosy pink ensemble by Zainab Chottani, Anoushey is the epitome of style, comfort and femininity.
We’ve been seeing Zhalay Sarhadi in a lot of Eid campaigns for various brands and designers this season but one of our favourite looks on the Chalay Thay Saath star is this lacy, peach tunic by designer Layla Chatoor. The narrow, straight pants are a good look on Zhalay; they make her look even taller!
