It has been a busy week for Pakistan’s growing celebrity circuit as the stars could be seen hobnobbing from one star studded event to another. Balu Mahi opened to cinemas worldwide while Fashion Parade took place in London; Grazia, a new fashion magazine launch attracted scores of celebs in Karachi and the PSL opening ceremony heightened everyone’s spirits! Instep rounds up the hot and happening.
Grazia goes live
As the fashion industry grows and flourishes, so do avid fashion readers in Pakistan. This was further proven at the launch of the Italian glossy magazine Grazia in Pakistan, thanks to the efforts of Zahra
Saifullah, the editor and publisher of Grazia
Pakistan. The launch was attended by all the hottest celebs, such as Mawra
Hocane (who’s also on the magazine’s first cover), Ayesha Omar, Bilal Ashraf, Mohib Mirza, HSY, Deepak Perwani, Maheen Khan and Tariq Amin amongst many others.
Fashion Parade Bride, London
Following four successful years of Fashion Parade in London, Sadia Siddiqui – the brain behind the project – extended the platform to Fashion Parade Bride & Luxury Pret; the elite event took place at the prestigious One Marylebone Church in London and was attended by an equally high end crowd. Participating designers included Faiza Samee, Nomi Ansari,
Tena Durrani, Seher Tareen (Studio S), Nilofer Shahid, Saira Rizwan and Shamaeel amongst others; a standout name was designer of priceless jewellery, Sherezad Rahimtoola.
HBL PSL 2017
Cricket is perhaps the one form of entertainment that truly brings everyone together and thanks to the HBL Pakistan Super League 2017, all of the biggest names in Pakistan were under one roof, or rather one stadium, at the opening ceremony of the event.
As Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi battled it out on the field, international sensation Shaggy kept the crowd on their toes, Ali Zafar and Shehzad Roy swooned us with their charms while Fahad Mustafa hosted the show and reminded us why he’s everyone’s favourite host.
Balu Mahi premiere
This week also saw the Balu Mahi promotional tour coming to an end with the film’s premieres in London, Dubai and Karachi. The star cast Osman Khalid Butt, Ainy Jaffri and Sadaf Kanwal, was on a red carpet roll and while initial reports and reviews are coming in, we are still unsure of the critical and commercial fate of the film. Whether it’s a success or leaves the box office stone cold is yet to be determined but the pretty stars did look good as they promoted the film.
