It’s been a hot, humid week but the summer lull seems to be over. People appear to be waking up from their heat induced three-month-long stupor and soon enough bleary eyed children will begin making their way to schools again. In the world of style our fashionistas seem to remain impervious to human factors such as high temperatures or maybe they know how to use it to their advantage. Here’s our round-up of the best-dressed beauties this week.
At a recent wedding, Khan turned up in a teal lehenga choli from the new Rema Shehrbano collection. The cropped, offshoulder choli is a welcome change for Khan who usually shies away from such silhouettes in keeping with her somewhat conservative dressing style. We love the delicate gota embellishment on the dupatta and the lehenga itself, which looks dressy without being over the top.
We’d imagine there was a line of cabs waiting as soon as Chopra stepped out in that summer ready white dress. Apparently, the Quantico star took to the streets for a shoot and the city came to a standstill (not really, but our hearts did). Chopra nails the looks with a perfectly
effortless updo, strappy heels and shades.
Photographer Muzi Sufi has been a bit of a girl crush for us since a while. Her dusky good looks, smudgy kohl-lined eyes and luscious locks just make for an effortlessly chic woman and it’s a crying shame that Sufi chooses to be behind the camera lens as opposed to in front of it. She carries her Republic Womenswear wedding ensemble with poise; we j’adore the pop of colour she injects into an otherwise pastel palette with her ruby lips.
In a move that seems to be aimed at dethroning reigning queen Sonam Kapoor from the best dressed Indian celebrity dais, Padukone combines stripes and polka dots. Before we break down what we love about the look can we just take a minute to appreciate how long her legs look in those pants? Of course Padukone’s legs probably don’t last for days in real life but that’s what a smart outfit can do; help you cheat your way to better body proportions.
