BEAUTY STATION! The supermodel solution

Gigi Hadid launches makeup line in collaboration with Maybelline New York.

BEAUTY STATION! The supermodel solution

The year 2017 has seen many A-list stars, including Kim Kardashian West and Rihanna, launching their makeup ranges. And now, supermodel Gigi Hadid has introduced a line in collaboration with Maybelline New York. Hadid has been the face of Maybelline since the beginning of the year 2015 and it was earlier in the month of October that she revealed on Instagram that a Gigi x Maybelline collection will be launched soon. Also, it was through her Instagram that we got to know that the line has been in the making for a year.

The supermodel and brand’s spokesperson has launched her limited edition, 30-item collection recently in the UK and USA. Hadid follows the ‘less is more’ makeup mantra and tries to keep it simple and subtle. She wanted ‘star-quality’ products that would fit into her on-the-go, minimal makeup routine. Hence, she has come out with a collection that has products which are easy to use and can create looks that work from day to night just by adding a lip or liner at the end of the day. What’s interesting is that Hadid has named various products after people, places and things that are most important to her. There are lip colours that are inspired by her friends and have been named after them.

All the products fall into three categories. East Coast Glam is inspired by the N.Y.C.’s trend-setting vibe; West Coast Glow is a combo of beachy feel with a touch of glamour and then there is the Jetsetter Travel Makeup Palette. The ranges feature everything from illuminators and primers to eye liners and, yes, lip kits, plus eye shadow palettes, brushes and much, much more.

Here’s all you need to know about the beauty products…

East Coast Glam for trendsetters

BTS_1_411The East Coast Glam range includes Lip Liner, Matte Lipstick, Black Liquid Eyeliner, Tinted Primer in Light Medium, Liquid Strobe in Iridescent, Black Gel Eyeliner, Fiber Mascara in Black, Eye Contour Palette in Warm and Cool (each palette contains five matte shades) and Eye Contour Brush. Hadid has named a pale nude matte lipstick and lip liner after one of her best friends, McCall, while Taura is short for Hadid’s astrological sign Taurus. Moreover, the deep mauve lipstick and lip liner has been named Erin, after her makeup artist who has also helped her develop the collection.

The Jetsetter Palette for quick fixes

BTS_2_4-11The Jetsetter Travel Makeup Palette is Hadid’s personal favourite as the California-born model loves a natural look especially when on the go – and as the name suggests, this is exactly what the all-in-one palette is all about. It is quite handy, very convenient to use and downright stunning! This palette is geared to give one a fresh, glowy look in a matter of minutes. It comes with everything one could need from four eye shadows to matte bronzer, highlighter, blush, two concealers, 2 lip balms, brushes and even a miniature tube of Colossal Mascara. Besides, the Jetsetter Palette consists of lipsticks in both nude shades and bright red-oranges. And the best part about the limited-edition Jetsetter Palette is that it contains ‘all the essentials that you need to look photo ready on the fly’, according to the brand.

West Coast Glow for a natural, beachy feel

BTS_3_4-11This line is about achieving that effortless sun-kissed and cool look inspired by Californian vibes. West Coast Glow comprises Tinted Primer in Medium Deep, Liquid Strobe in Gold, Nude Gel Eyeliner, Lash Sensational Mascara, Eye Shadow Palette and a brush to go with it. Not to forget the matte lipsticks and lip liners that come in three vibrant shades of red – Austyn, Khair and Lani.
