Saheefa Jabbar Khattak is one model and actress who came into the limelight after she cut her hair short and sported a pixie-cut. Though she garnered severe criticism for it she refuted the idea of conventional beauty and proved that having a strong personal style doesn’t make her a bad actor or model.
Saheefa made her acting debut with Teri Meri Kahani alongside Azfar Rehman earlier this year. The actress can currently be seen in television play titled Beti, which went on air this week. In the play she essays the character of Maryam, an educated young woman, who gets married into a family where the birth of a baby girl is considered to be a curse.
Instep got in touch with Saheefa for the secret behind her beautiful and healthy skin.
Skin care regime
“As far as my skin care regime is concerned, well to be honest I didn’t have any specific routine that I would follow,” shared Saheefa. “But after getting into the drama industry, all the makeup wreaked havoc on my skin. So now I follow a simple routine. As soon as I wake up in the morning I put on a mask – which is in the form of a capsule – I soak it in rose water or some fruit juice and apply it on my face every morning. This has become a ritual. Apart from this, the one thing that I swear by is applying lots of Cetaphil moisturizer, I never skip it. Also, quite recently I have started applying sun block. If we talk about makeup I avoid applying it as much as I can; and whenever I do I don’t put on layers as I want my skin to breathe”
A trend that I love…
“My favourite beauty trend is the thick eyebrow trend. I think bringing back the raw look was the best idea ever. I was never a big fan of those ugly thin, plucked eyebrows. The fact is that I am a firm believer of embracing your natural beauty and so I stay away from fake, layered and caked look.”
A trend that is a big NO…
“Dark and sharp contour is a big no for me. And as I mentioned earlier, thin blade eyebrows is another trend that I will never go for even if it becomes the in thing once again.”
A beauty product I can’t live without…
My all-time favourites
“I have a few favourite perfumes and that include Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford and Parlez-Moi d’Amour by John Galliano. As for beauty products, these days I am in love with Chanel’s foundation – it is amazing.
When on a holiday…
“I am obsessed with the no-make look – it defines my go-to holiday look perfectly. By no-makeup look I mean literally ‘no makeup’. Working in the entertainment industry requires you to put on a lot of makeup, so when on a holiday I prefer giving my skin a break as well. That is the only time I don’t have to wear makeup, so I stay away from cosmetics like foundation, mascara, highlighter etc. However, I make sure to wash my face and put on plenty of moisturizer.”
Biggest beauty indulgence
My makeup bag is full of…
“It is full of different beauty products by Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) and Chanel. Initially you would find only YSL but now you will find a mix of both in my makeup bag.”
