Eid is all about festivities, flaunting exquisite outfits and looking picture perfect. You can wear the trendiest of outfits and pair them with matching accessories, but the fact is that your look would be incomplete without the right hair and makeup. When it comes to beauty, all you girls out there want to discover makeup and stylish hair trends that are fit for special occasions. So, if you want to make a statement, then it is important to get everything, especially on the beauty front, flawless. Read on as Instep shares some trends that are perfect for Eid.

The no-makeup look

While Meghan Markle rocked the no make-up look on her wedding, this is one trend that is just ideal for a summer Eid. The effortless no make-up look, with subdued foundation, subtle eyes and hints of colour on the cheeks and lips, is very much in. This Eid, bid farewell to heavy contouring and say hello to fresh dewy skin with at most, a soft pink blush for flushed cheeks. It’s a good idea to get your skin to its best possible condition to maximize the natural look.

Paint ‘em blue

Cover_2If you decide to inject some colour into your makeup look, then go for blue. Sweeping a metallic cobalt blue liner on the eyes is all the rage these days and adds oomph to your overall look. An ultra-fresh take on this trend is the upside-down liner. You can use a shadow or liner in your preferred blue hue to line your lower lash line – the result is a pop of colour that simultaneously defines your eyes. All you have to do is line your lower lash line and flick the liner upwards.

White henna

Cover_6Eid seems incomplete without the intricate and beautiful designs of henna/ mehndi. Though nothing beats the traditional red/brown mehndi, we have – in the past – seen black Moroccan henna come in as a hot trend and this year, you have an option to go for white henna designs. Since this trend has emerged, it has become a favourite amongst women; it’s most flattering on dark skin tones, on which it is more visible. So, if you want to stand out in a crowd, try white henna designs which can last from 1 to 3 days, depending on your skin type.

Glossy lids

Cover_5This cool trend is part of the wave of more experimental and playful beauty and has officially taken over. Glossy lids look great in pretty much any color – from understated nude to holographic pink. To achieve this look, add a touch of gloss over your everyday eye shadow to instantly give your makeup an edgy update. This is not all! You can also combine glossy lids with water-coloured eyes, which are inspired by the light, feathery feel of water-colour paintings.

Glowing skin

According to beauty experts, the key to achieving flawless, glowing skin is to layer illuminator and highlighter onto the high points of the face creating an other-worldly glow. What you need to do is apply illuminizing powders just above your cheekbones and slightly blending it down to the cheeks. Remember to aim for a subtle shimmer that gives an edgy yet chic feel.

Mermaid waves

Cover_4With celebs rocking long, glossy mermaid waves, this Eid make sure to finish off your look with mermaid waves that somehow merge casual beach vibes with the spirit of the 70s. This gorgeous hairstyle is totally summer-ready and is ideal for women with mid-length and long hair.

Pretty pout

Cover_7Because it is summer, opt for lip colours in light pink, peach or earthy tones during the day. But for dinner parties you require a bolder lip colour like the timeless red rouge. However, red lips have been given a modern twist this season. Instead of pairing the shade with cat-eyes or bold eye makeup, team up this punchy hue with minimal makeup and bare eyes for an effortless look.

Nail affair

Cover_3You can make any outfit look great with a powerful nail statement. From pale peach, to blush white and barely there pink, 2018 is all about the understated natural nail. Whether glossy finishes or matte topcoats, go for super subtle nail paints – think soft watercolors or candy-hued nail colors. You can even revamp the average nude by putting on a shimmer finish.
