The Billboard Music Awards 2019, which took place in Las Vegas recently, saw some of the biggest names in the music and entertainment industry bringing all the glam to the red carpet.

Every year A-listers show up at the awards show in killer outfits that are complemented with bold hair statements and colorful makeup looks. This year was no different. From Sophie Turner to Cardi B to Halsey, celebrities looked unstoppable as they upped their red carpet game and flaunted some of this year’s statement beauty looks such as whimsical pastel makeup, bold eye makeup and effortlessly chic hairstyles.

While some stars opted for a subtle and polished aesthetic – think nude lipstick paired with sleek hair – others went up a notch and chose something a little more daring, like a bright blue lipstick or exaggerated eyeliner.

Here are six of our favourite beauty looks from the 2019 Billboard Music Awards.

Taylor Swift

The singer, who recently released her new song ‘ME!’ with Brandon Urie, stepped out on the red carpet rocking a long-sleeve, ruffled lavender dress by the Turkish label, Raisa and Vanessa and accessorized with a stunning ear cuff. Playing up the soft lilac hue of her outfit, Taylor Swift coordinated her eye makeup to her dress. She went with a purple toned smokey eye with her signature winged liner and a richly-pigmented pink lip. As for her hair, she also incorporated a lavender tint in her braided up-do.

Halsey

Halsey

Halsey

At this year’s red carpet, Halsey wore a blue and black gown and stuck to the hues of her outfit, as far as her makeup was concerned. Halsey went with a purple lip color and blue/purple liner on the lower lashes, which is a huge trend this year. For a dramatic effect, she opted for black mascara for her upper lashes and kept the rest of her look minimal, with a light contour and rosy blush.

Cardi B

Cardi B is never the one to shy away from a beauty risk. She wore a bright yellow outfit by Moschino, complete with glittering embellishments. Known for wearing hyper-pigmented bright hues across her eyes, for the award night Cardi B opted for a smokey eye with super long dramatic lashes and angled cat eyeliner. She finished her look with a purplish pink eyeliner on her lower lashes and glossy nude lip color. As for her hair, she walked the red carpet with sleek, center-parted hair.

Sophie Turner

After Sophie Turner’s hyper-glam, smokey black eye makeup at last month’s Game of Thrones red carpet, this time around the actress kept her beauty look low-key. She strutted down the red carpet wearing a futuristic silver jumpsuit with multicolored and multidimensional elements by Louis Vuitton. She chose to go for a natural makeup look with subtle eyes, spidery lashes, bronzed cheeks and baby pink gloss on the lips. She wore her lob in a stunning blowout with center parting.

Kiernan Shipka

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star is known for her uber chic style. At the 2019 Billboard Music Awards, the teen made a major departure from her signature snowy blonde hair colour, and showed off a new copper shade. Kiernan Shipka had one of the best makeup looks of the night. Her glittery silver eye shadow with red tiny star accents was show-stopping, as was her new hair color. Kiernan kept her look fresh and went with a stained berry hue on her lips.

Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde looked stunning in a Ralph Lauren outfit. The actress went for a luminous and dewy skin with shimmering bronze eye look that accentuated her bright eyes. With a high-neck gold gown, you need to wear your hair up and Olivia did just that with a loose, face-framing up-do.
